A swing and a miss

A CanWest–Ipsos Reid survey finds 61 per cent of Canadians think the Conservatives’ greenhouse-gas plan doesn’t go far enough, and 52 per cent are prepared to call it “a bad plan.”

John Wright, senior vice-president at Ipsos Reid, says the latest poll numbers suggest Canadians do not believe that the environmental agenda of the Conservatives is genuine.

“The public would find little credibility in believing that this particular plan that he’s put forward is the toughest in the world,” Wright said in an interview. “They see it as environment-lite.”
